Israel FM confirms Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar killed

JERUSALEM, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) — Israel’s foreign minister confirmed on Thursday that Hamas’ top leader, Yahya Sinwar, was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza.
In a message to dozens of foreign ministers around the world, Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed the death of Sinwar.
“The mass murderer Yahya Sinwar, who is responsible for the massacre and atrocities of October 7, was killed today by IDF soldiers,” says Katz, according to his office. ■
